We Eat...

So, I was thrilled with the chance to do a review on POPCORN!  Yummy!  My son probably is the biggest popcorn lover in the whole house!  He absolutely loves it.  So, when this HUGE 14 pound box of popcorn delight arrived, it didn't take him but about five minutes until he was ripping and ready to go!!  

This was our first foray into the popping fresh popcorn like this.  So, I was a little nervous about getting started.  I didn't know anything about popping popcorn on a stove.

However, it really wasn't hard at all.  The butter or "Oil" was in solid form and so, I maybe should have put it in first and let it begin to melt prior to putting in the popcorn.  Our batch, while it came out tasty, had some burnt pieces in it!  

I guess practice will make perfect. However, the taste of this popcorn was truly DELISH!  It transported me to a theatre setting with the taste of buttery popcorn!  For someone like me, these are perfect since they are portioned for me.  That way, I can't go wrong!  It has all been pre-measured for me!  So, it takes the guess work out of it!!

New Year's Treat

This would be a PERFECT snack for New Year's!  What a great way to ring in the New Year with some tasty popcorn and a movie or some fun games!!

During the holidays we all consume an unbelievable amount of yummy treats.  If your like me, delicious snacks is always a fall back gift when I just can't think of anything else to get those people I'm just "Stuck" with ideas...

The folks at Tortuga generously sent me a few samples to try for the Holiday Gift Guide.  They sent two flavor options of their Rum Cakes.  Now, I have to be honest here, I am SOOOOOO NOT a Coconut kind of girl...  So, my daughter actually tried the Coconut Rum Cake and loved it!

Luckily for me they also included an original Rum Cake that I was able to devour in two sittings.  These are delicious treats, but man are they sweet.  And these were the smaller sizes, but they really were the perfect size for individual use!  I like the idea of perhaps gifting this size but in maybe a quantity of four!

Chocolatey Treats...

If your like me, you crave CHOCOLATE..  I used to have a pillow when I was a kid, it said "Give me Chocolate or GIVE ME SLEEP.....  IT was fitting then and it's still fitting for who I am...  I LOVE chocolate treats...  Who doesn't love chocolate?? So, if you prefer gifting chocolate treats for your loved ones, Tortuga has that option as well!!

They sent me the Chocolate Rum Balls, which were delicious.  But, when looking on their site I spied some Chocolate Turtles with Rum and Sea Salt!  Oh My GOSH, those sound absolutely YUMMY!!  Turtles or "Millionaires" are actually the candy that I used to have in my stocking every year!!!  So, I'm sure that the Tortuga would be a nice and grownified version of your favorite treat!!    Click below to view the many options that Tortuga has for the chocolate lovers in your life!!

So, I don't have many pictures....  I know really weird....  But, I did an unboxing and I dug in and ate them before I even thought about taking pictures.

I had a friend invite me through email and so my first box was compltely free.  I may have had to pay a little for shipping, I don't remember.  However, I know whatever I paid wasn't near $20.  And I absolutely LOVED the snacks I chose.

Mango Chews

I originally had chosen these watermelon chews, but they were out of them and so I had to make another choice.. I chose the Melon Chews in their place...

Acai Berry Crunch

These are a granola option I chose.  While it probably is meant for things like cereal or Yogurt, I have actually eaten them by hand.

They are really good.  They have a nice and sweet flavor!  A little hard on the teeth, but extremely tasty and worth it.

Now, I need to buy some Greek yogurt so I can use them as a Topping!!!

SunShine Chips

These were an extra snack I was sent and I have to say, that I'm glad that I didn't choose these....  

They are OK, if I was starving and there wasn't another bit of food for me to eat I'd eat them.  They are pretty tough and they don't have much flavor.  They just are kinda bland.

Wouldn't be picked for another box, that's for sure.

 Peanut Butter Nom Noms

These were a snack my daughter picked out.  They are pretty tasty.  She allowed me to take a little nibble.  They are pretty sweet and for her to love them tells me that they don't taste like they are "healthy", as she's like her mother a very picky eater.

So, I'm sure if I continue this subscription, she will be all about the Nom Noms!

Guacaomole Bites

These are AWESOME...  They are so extremely Flavorful!  They just taste really good.

They have a bit of spice or something to them.. They have a bit of a kick.  I've found that they are really good when you crush them up on top of a salad.  It gives your salad a bit of crunch and an added layer of flavor!  

These would definitely be picked AGAIN...

No Picture:  Strawberry Chews....

So, I don't have a pictures of these, because they are already gone...  But, they were so delicious.  They weren't too chewy for me and my absyml teeth!  They had these little rice pieces inside of them, do it added a little crunch but the flavor was really nice!  Clearly, I loved it, if I've eaten it already!!  You can see them on my Unboxing Video!!

Overall:

I really enjoyed this.  I don't know if I can afford to keep this subscription.  I just can't keep them all and I need to find areas to cut back.  I already didn't pick a Birchbox Plus Item this month!  But, if money were NO OBJECT, this would definitely be a service that I'd be happy to get.  They shipped extremely quickly!  I was shocked when this box arrived at my home!

October Unboxed....

The thing I LOVE about Love with Food, is it truly does expand my horizons food wise.  I am such a picky eater....  I almost have an aversion to health food...  If I know it is "Good For Me", I'm likely to NOT like it!!  However, since I've joined Love with Food, I've discovered that healthy eating doesn't mean gross eating...  It can really be tasty! Now, I don't love everything..  There are some items where I'm like uh... Not for me....

I, personally am not a Jelly Bean person...  However, Callie seemed to enjoy these.  I prefer like Gummy Bears or something.. I was really stoked until I saw these were Jelly Beans.. Oh well, you can't win them all...

Justin's Almond Butter: Chocolate & Honey

These were probably my favorite item in the whole box.  They really were delicious.  I had never tried Almond Butter before and found that it really has a nice texture and flavor!

This was one of the I LOVE MY LOVE WITH FOOD box moments!  These are what having this sub is all about, finding a new item that you will cherish and stalk after....

J & M Cheese Straws

These aren't my favs...  I love cheese bits but these just really aren't for me.  I'm sure most subscribers LOVED them....  Just not me....

These were another tasty addition to the October box that I was truly pleased with!  They are so flavorful!  They have a spicy kick to them!  I've never had "Falafal" anything, but I definitely will be looking for "Falafal" now!!

I had previously received a bag of these from Swaggable and I have to say they are not tasty to me.  I just don't get the big deal behind these.  However, I have many friends who seem to truly enjoy them...

See, there is me and my picky eating habits giving me a headache!!!  I am sure that it's just because of my pickiness that I don't like them....

Overall:

True, this box was hit and miss for me.  But, I still found three items that I really and truly LOVED!  That's what it's all about to me.  It's about discovering new tasty snacks that you might never have had the opportunity to try otherwise.  It was through Love with Food that I discovered, Madyson's Marshmallows!!

You probably aren't going to like EVERYTHING you get in this box if you subscribe, but I truly do recommend getting it if you love snacking and want to try to find some healthy alternatives!  Our family is NOT health crazy, but we have loved these boxes and always have a few items that we just fall in love with each month!  Last month it was the Cinnamon Popcorn that LWF distributed... Sad thing is I can't find them on their site and I truly did LOVE that popcorn!!
