Bella Eleganze: Detangling Brush & Tweezers

Bella Eleganze: A Trio of Beauty Tools
Bella Eleganze: Detangler Brush, Fiber Lashes, Tweezers

Dangler: Detangler Brush

$9.99 with Amazon Prime

Dtangler: Bella EleganzeMy daughter has hair that will make any mother want to pull their own hair out by fistfuls.   I mean one summer she reminded me of one of those cartoon characters where the kid's hair is so tangled and there is a swarm of flies flying around their head...  Her hair literally takes hours sometimes to get untangled and run a brush through it.  It was so bad that I honestly came EXTREMELY close to just shaving it all off.

A detangling brush would have been a heaven send during those days.  It still gets bad, but nowhere near as bad as it once was.  So, I was thrilled with the opportunity to get the chance to try out this Detangling brush from the folks at Bella Eleganze, I had already tried their Fiber Lashes and had been impressed with the quality of that product, so I was certain I'd be happy with this brush.

Dtangler: Bella Eleganze BrushIt definitely did not disappoint.  It's a nice and sturdy brush and I love the design of it as well as the bright pink color.  I'm not any kind of expert, so I'm not even going to attempt to pretend that I can understand the dynamics of what makes a "Detangler Brush" work, but I know that my daughter when using this brush, doesn't seem to get anywhere near the tangles she used to.

Tweezers: Bella Eleganze

Ok, so I feel like a goof ball.  I have been in the process of moving, or rather looking for a home and so my house is somewhat like an Amazon Mini Warehouse, it's become an abyss for Amazon products to just pile up...  One of the latest victims of being lost in the abyss of my home are the Bella Eleganze Tweezers.  So, I can't provide detailed images of these tweezers.

However, I can tell you that these tweezers are fabulous.  I used to think that a pair of tweezers were just whatever, that there weren't one set that was any better than the next. However, since really using tweezers more often here lately and trying to keep my eyebrows nice and neat and not waiting until they are super long to tweeze them, I have realize that truly there are some tweezers that are better designed for the job than others.

The way that the Bella Eleganze tweezers are designed, they have very pointed ends and so they really can get little hairs better than a more rounded designed tweezer can.  I really prefer tweezers designed like these versus the rounded or softer tipped ones.

Fiber Lashes

Trying out Bella EleganzeOk, so if you are a part of social media, then you have most likely seen ads for "Fiber Lashes", they are called by some people "Spidey Lashes", because they have some serious power to lengthen your lashes.  Some people choose to use them to their very limit and stretch their lashes to a super maximum length.  However, don't let those images scare you and make you think that by using Fiber Lashes you are automatically going to achieve this most unnatural look.

I was lucky and managed to snag these for a great price several months ago, and I truly love them. I have tried several brands, including the company that originally came out with "Fiber Lashes" and I can tell you that the Bella Eleganze are just as great as the "Big Brand" fiber lashes are.

Like with other things, it's all in how you use the product that's going to make the difference.  I, myself, don't have very long lashes to begin with, and I just really stink at using "Falsies".  I just am not coordinated enough to be able to use false lashes and so a product like fiber lashes are perfect for me!!

Summary:

Long story short.  Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of the products that I've had the chance to try made by Bella Eleganze.  They all are top notch, high quality products that help enhance your natural beauty.  For now, Bella Eleganze only have three products.  I can't wait until they grow their brand and add more products to their catalog.

Beauty Blender: To Dupe or NOT to Dupe PLUS a HOW TO Guide

Beauty Blender: To Dupe or Not To Dupe

To Dupe or NOT To Dupe...

Beauty Blender VS Dupes

So, I am a HUGE fan of saving money whenever you can.  There are times when you can seriously save some big bucks by going with a low cost option that is extremely similar to the High End version.  Today, I decided to look at the REAL Beauty  Blender Versus The "Dupes"....

Here a Dupe, There a Dupe, Everywhere a Dupe DUPE

So, if you log onto Amazon and search for Beauty Blender you will pull up thousands of products. Some that are the "Real" deal and others that are dupes of the real thing.  So, how do you navigate the overwhelming options that Amazon and other sites have of Beauty Blender and their Dupe's???

I have a few of the Dupes as well as a REAL Beauty Blender (Courtesy of a friend on Facebook who sent it to me in a swap!!) plus an ULTA sponge.  So, I decided after finally getting my hands on the REAL Beauty Blender to test the REAL VS DUPE...

Original Beauty Blender

The Original Beauty Blender: SassyGalBeautySo, here is a pic of my Original Beauty Blender (Please Note:  I had already opened and just put it back inside the package for pics).  I had only ever tried dupes prior to receiving the Original Beauty Blender and so I was amazed when I got this how different it is to the dupes.

You can find the Original Beauty Blender on various sites:

Birchbox.com & Sephora, are both great sites to find the Beauty Blender.  If you are a Birchbox subscriber, you have the added bonus of being able to use your Birchbox points towards your purchase.  Birchbox actually has a Double Blender package for just $28.95, so for just $9 more you can get two instead of one.

Shop BeautyBlender.Net to find a wide variety of Beauty Blender's and accessories as well as the Solid Cleanser (A MUST for cleaning your Beauty Blender)

RougeSmooth:

RougeSmooth is one of the more popular "dupes" on Amazon and I had actually tried it prior to trying the "Real" blender.  Before I had tried the Original, I thought the RougeSmooth was o.k., it seemed decent.  However, I never actually used it for using it everyday.  It wasn't good enough to make me choose it over my regular sponge I was using (I had been using a Sonia Kashuk sponge from Target).

So, for someone who hasn't yet to try a "Real" blender, they may think that the RougeSmooth or other blenders are fantabulous.  However, now I've tried a real blender I can say without hesitation that it doesn't even come close to the "Real Deal".

Comparing Real VS Dupe

I could have shown you other dupes in pictures, but honestly, it really is pointless.  This is one of those times where the saying "You get what you pay for", is absolutely 100% true.  I wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a good sponge to purchase a cheaper option.  I definitely recommend that you spend a little extra and get the "Real" in this case.

Original Beauty Blender:

  • Very Small
  • Bright, BRIGHT Pink
  • Extremely Soft
  • Becomes Softer When Wet
  • Very Pliable: Easy to get around eyes and nose
  • Comes in White, Black, Pink, Purple & Red
  • Cleans Fairly Easily with Cleanser
The things I noticed when using a Fake VS Real:
  • Dupes are MUCH harder
  • Dupes don't squeeze well
  • Aren't as pliable
  • Some don't expand when wet
  • Makeup Doesn't Go on Smoothly
  • Much Longer Drying Time
  • Doesn't Clean As Well
The purpose of a Beauty Blender is that when you use it correctly, the product is going to sit on top of the sponge rather than absorbing inside the sponge as it does with regular sponges.  Because of it's shape, and softness it also allows the user to get in the creases that often times are hard to get to with other methods of applying foundation.

How To Use a Beauty Blender:

So, if you've never used a Beauty Blender, and suddenly find yourself with one you may be confused as how in the heck to use this cute little pink sponge....

  1. Wet Your Beauty Blender
  2. Squeeze Excess Water Out
  3. Apply Foundation: Dab / Tap
  4. Tight Areas: Squeeze around Eyes/ Nose
  5. Rinse Thoroughly
  6. Wash: Use a mild soap or Beauty Blender Cleanser
  7. Allow to air dry
Beauty Blender Tutorial

Verdict: BUY REAL

So, a lot of times I would say to go for a cheaper option.  Not in this case.  If you are looking for a great way to apply foundation I say either use a brush or a Beauty Blender.  After testing three dupes and having long been a user of regular sponges, I can honestly say that nothing compares to the Original Beauty Blender that I've yet tried.

The Original Beauty Blender for one, is smaller than any other's I've tested as well as SO MUCH softer.  The other ones are much more stiff and aren't near as pliable as the Original is.  It also cleans so much better than the dupes did, making it a much more hygienic option.

Until I had used a Beauty Blender, I really didn't grasp all the hype around it.  However, I truly am a believer now and can't see me ever going back to my grungy sponge again!!

**  FAKE ALERT:
When purchasing a Beauty Blender, I would try to only purchase from places like Sephora or Birchbox, I'm a huge Amazon fan, but many people end up getting fakes and not the real deal when purchasing from sellers on Amazon!

Yalmeh Foundation Brush Review

Yalmeh Foundation Brush

Yalmeh Foundation Brush:

Just The Facts:

  • Vegan
  • No Shedding
  • Easy Clean Up
  • Synthetic Materials: High Quality
  • Materials Prevent Shedding
  • 90 Day Money Back Gurantee

My Thoughts:

So, prior to using this brush, I'd not ever used a brush for applying my foundation.  So, because of that it is a little hard for me to review from a knowledgable standpoint.  I just am not very knowledgable about foundation brushes.
Yalmeh in motion: Using my Paw Palette to blend my foundation
Pictured: Paw Palette for Blending
I have, however tried tons of other types of brushes and so I'm fairly confident in my ability to determine quality.  I really like the asthetics of this brush, it's an attractive looking brush!  The handle is extremely sturdy and durable.  It's a solid brush, meaning it's not hollow anywhere.  Also, the brush itself the hairs seem extremely secure and not loose in anyway.

The hairs of the brush are really soft and feel good on my face.  I had no issue with fallout when using the brush.  I have seen several types of foundation brushes and so, I suppose that it depends on your personal preference as to what shape you prefer. This particular brush is tapered all around. which I could see as being helpful to get to the creases of your nose and eyes, etc.

I'm an over "Thirty" and so for it being a new experience for myself, I don't know how likely I am going to be to toss my sponges for a foundation brush.  However on my limited experience I really was impressed with this brush and will definitely try working with it more often to see if I can get used using a brush instead of a sponge.

Getting ready for foundation....
Contouring
It definitely seems as if a brush might be easier to clean and keep hygenic and so that's a huge motivation for trying to get used to using a brush.  I did use this a couple of times for my foundation and it was really a whole different experience for someone used to using a sponge.  It wasn't bad, just it was weird for me.  I felt like I was a kid playing in paint and rubbing paint on my face.

Brush or Sponge?

What do you usually use for applying foundation?  Am I just really old school, or are there others who prefer sponges?  For myself it's a totally new concept to me that people use brushes for their foundation!  I would love to hear what you use for your daily makeup routine and why you prefer that method!!

Getting Organized: Makeup Beauty Organizers

 Getting Organized:

Organization Solutions for Your Beauty Items

Acrylic Drawer Makeup Organizer from AmazonA year ago I could have easily fit all of my "Beauty" Products in one small makeup bag.  Seriously, NO JOKE.  I was just not that into makeup and I definitely didn't have ANY skincare products.  However, I've since changed my tune in regards to both makeup and to skincare.  I used to honestly think that skincare was some kind of scam with the beauty industry just trying to raid our wallets, that they didn't truly work.

However, back in the spring time I made my first purchases of high end makeup and have since purchased TONS of makeup.  I also have subscribed to a ton of beauty subscription boxes which has also helped add to my overflowing collection of beauty products.

You should have seen my bathroom BEFORE I purchased my organizers!  It was overflowing to the max.  This still doesn't show you all the items that I have in boxes and another shelf that sits on my bathroom floor that holds the products that I'm not currently using.

I thought with the New Year, New You series I'm currently working on, that this would be a perfect time to discuss Organizing your bathroom or "Beauty Stuffs".

  The Bath Outlet:  Rainbow Line

The Bath Outlet: Rainbow Line Makeup Organizer
So, it was probably this organizer that got me to wanting to have all my makeup organized and have my counter all pretty with these organizers.  I was thrilled with the chance to review this makeup organizer from the folks at The Bath Outlet!

The Rainbow Collection from TheBathOutlet.com is actually an imported Italian Collection by Gedy.  All the pieces in the Rainbow Collection are made with thermoplastic resin.  These are high quality pieces and made from quality materials!

They actually have a variety of products in the Rainbow Line from mirrors to these makeup organizers to garbage cans, just about any bathroom accessory you could think of or need, you can find at TheBathOutlet.com

 One Organizer Becomes TWO:

See this on TheBathOutlet.com: Makeup Organizer: TheBathOutlet.com
The Bath Outlet: Organizer into Two OrganizersSo, while the organizer from The Bath Outlet is completely perfect as it is, I just honestly needed an organizer in which to store my palettes and felt that if I seperated this organizer, I could have the best of both worlds!  So far I've really enjoyed this storage solution!  I have the perfect place to store my lippy's and concealers and other items in the Purple Part and then using the other piece for my big shadow palettes!

The Bottom Piece from the Bath Outlet OrganizerAs you can see, the bottom piece of the organizer from "The Bath Outlet" works perfectly for my eye shadow palettes!  These aren't small palettes!
The palettes in this picture: Urban Decay Vice 3, Urban Decay Naked 3, Urban Decay Mariposa, Coastal Scents Revealed 2, and Too Faced Natural palette.

If purple isn't quite your color, no worries, you can find a variety of colors on TheBathOutlet.com's site.  As you can see if you were to purchase this makeup organizer, you have a couple of options as to how you can use it!  I seriously am in love with this organizer!!

Acrylic Organizers Purchased From Amazon:

Acrylic Organizer on Amazon

Acrylic Organizer: From AmazonI guess it was back in late November or early December when a friend on Facebook alerted us to this awesome deal on Amazon.  The organizers themselves were like $5 each and then shipping was $8.95, so if you purchased three at the same time you only were paying maybe $24 for all three because you only got the shipping charge once!  The price has since gone up to $13 for the same organizers, so I'm really glad I took the plunge when I did!!

Perfect Size for Most All My Makeup Stuffs

While these drawers aren't going to hold my eyeshadow palettes, or huge items, they are sufficient in storing most all of the other items.  My brushes, single shadows, sample packets, liners, etc. all fit perfectly inside the drawers!

Easier To Grab:

Since I've organized my makeup, it truly is so much easier to find everything when I'm getting ready.  My beauty routine has easily been cut in half, because prior to getting this storage system, it was trying to remember which box I had stored what in.

Everything Has a Place

Brushes: Storage Solutions
Brush Drawer
Now it's super easy to put all my liners together, all my brushes, etc.  I still haven't set it up PERFECTLY for my needs, but it's going to be a process to learn what set up is easiest for my daily needs.  I like having all of my liners in one consolidated area and all of my primers, etc.

Storage Solutions: Liners all in one spot
All Liners in ONE Spot!
I've also found that for my skincare items that are too large, the tops of the drawers make the perfect spot for those items!

Blushes, concealers & More
Bronzers, Blushes, Concealers in ONE Drawer!

Organize For The Way You Live

We all have our little quirks.  The thing about organizing things, we all may have different solutions that will work differently for our unique personalities and the way we live.  So, there's really no right or wrong when your organizing, as long as it works for you then your good.

How Do You Organize?

How do you keep all of your makeup and skincare organized?

Oleavine Beauty: Konjac Sponge

Charcoal Activated Konjac Sponge: Just The Facts

  • Made from 100% Plant Based Konjac
  • Scrubs your face GENTLY
  • Naturally Moisturizes your face
  • Eco-Friendly
  • Biodegradeable
  • Charcoal Activated

My Thoughts:

If you've never experienced the awesomeness that truly is the Konjac sponge, you are truly missing out!  This sponge is awesome!  Using a Konjac sponge, your using a sponge that is made from a natural plant and so you're freeing yourself from man made materials that could potentially be harmful to your delicate skin.

I love this sponge.  It's quite large.  If you haven't ever tried a Konjac sponge, you may be a little taken aback when you receive it and it is HARD, don't worry, that's completely normal!  You just wet it and it will then transform into a AWE inspired cleansing pad!

TIP:
For Storage:  You can keep it in a container or a plastic bag in the refrigerator to help maintain it's freshness.  I would recommend changing out at least every thirty days.

Your Thoughts..

I would love to hear your experiences with Konjac sponges.  If you've never tried one, what's your preferred method of cleansing your face?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

UV Gel Nails Dryer: A Review...

This Post Contains Affiliate Links

UV Gel Lamp Dryer

So, I've never personally done gel nails prior to this...  So, I was thrilled to get this opportunity.  Unfortunately, I haven't had a WHOLE lot of time to play around with it, because when it arrived and I went to actually use it to test it out, it came with a damaged bulb...  So, I had to wait around for about a week for a replacement to come....

I also, was without the requisite nail polish to use such a device...  This is a specifically for Gel Nails and MAN are there so many choices it will make your head spin!!  I will say this, they WERE pretty fast in responding to my request, within two days they had gotten back to me and issued my replacement!  I actually had a blogger friend who went and purchased me some gel nails stuff and shipped them to me, so that I could actually test this out!!

My Experience:

Ok, so I've never done GEL or UV nails prior to this and so it's really hard to review an item when I know not what it's supposed to do...  I don't know if I didn't do something right as far as applying the polish, but it took forever for my nails to dry!  I mean like FOREVER at least an hour!  And I'm an impatient person who is BUSY 24/7, I literally have to be doing something CONSTANTLY!  So, I didn't have the patience to give it another go!

I think though, that I didn't have the right tools needed to make this lamp work at it's fullest capacity.  I really think that it would be a good lamp for someone who isn't completely ignorant to such things...

I am a girl who just in the past six months started to really learn about beauty products and nail products, so I'm still learning here...

OVERALL:

I think this is a nice lamp for the price...  It's like $19.99 at the present time and that's not a bad price when comparing other lamps!  It also is great for those who want to explore UV Gel nails!  The customer service was really good and so I feel safe in saying that this is a product that if you are looking for something like this, you should give it a try!

I think it would make a great gift for a teenage girl or a woman who loves her beauty products!  It's definitely a unique gift idea!!
