Walmart Beauty Box: Spring THE Over 35 Box

Walmart Beauty Box: Spring Over 35 Box

Over 35 Spring Beauty Box

What It Is:

The Walmart Beauty Box debuted Fall 2014 and was actually really nice!  I was really extremely impressed  by the amount of goodies that had come in a $5 box.  The Walmart Beauty Box is a seasonal subscription box that is released every three months.  So far, there have been 3 total boxes.  Fall, Winter and now Spring.  OF course, the next box will be the Summer box and we should get it around June.

Spring 2015: The Over 35's Box aka THE OLD FOGIE Box

So, to say I'm a tad disappointed in the sampling of the Spring 2015 Walmart Beauty Box, would be an understatement.  I guess that Walmart being Walmart and how HUGE they are, you would think that they would have some MEGA power with all these fabulous brands that they carry and would be able to introduce some on trend items in these boxes.

However, a lot of the items that were in this box were repeats that I've had in other boxes or have seen in other boxes.  Nothing really was like " Oh Wow!  That's cool. I've never seen that before".  But, unfortunately there just wasn't anything that I felt as if they introduced or even really made sense for a Spring Box.  I feel as if Walmart had this wild haired scheme, wanting to cash in on the Subscription Box explosion and have found themselves ill prepared.

Spring 2015 Foil Line-Up

So, Walmart Spring 2015 Beauty Box did manage to break on record, the MOST foil packets carried by any single subscription box in the history of subscription services....

I had FIVE total foil packets....

Walmart Beauty Box: Spring 2015 FOIL Line UP

What's Inside:

Loreal Youthful Glow Serum
Olay Regenerist Luminous
Garnier  Miracle Sleeping Cream
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion
Burt's Bees Intensive Firming Serum

So basically skincream, skincream and MORE skincream....  YAY...

Spring 2015 Walmart Beauty: Coupons

Walmart Spring 2015 Coupons:

The coupons were probably the highlight of the box, with coupons for most of the skincreams that we were given foil packets of in addition to the standout hit of the Coupons:  The ROGAINE coupon...  Need I say more????

Walmart Spring Beauty Box

Deluxe Samples

So.......  The younger crowd were blessed with a couple full sized items like Mascara, and a nice LIPSTICK.....  We, the OLD people (35 and older equals OLD in Walmart Beauty WORLD) were given knock out hits like, Loreal Shampoo and Conditioner (Repeat from Nov. Sample Society), a pretty decent sample with the Caress "Adore Forever" body wash (Probably the single one item I like and will use out of this box) and then a Dial 7 Day Moisturizing Lotion....  And LAST but NOT least a sample of LADY GAGA Black Fluid Perfume...  Because ALL over 35 women LOVE Lady Gaga...

But...  But, it's just $5

Yes, it is JUST $5 and YES, I could just sign up as a 24 year old girl and hopefully get some of the cool items...  However, why should I have to LIE about my age to get something decent in a subscription box from Walmart?  Why is it that Walmart thinks that once you hit 35 you only need to start focusing on SKINCARE and haircare???  The over 35 probably spend way more money at Walmart than the under 30 crowd does, yet they have made it clear they are primarily targeting that age group with this Subscription Service...  That's just wrong.

I would say it's just a fluke, but this box was no better than the Winter Box which also had NO COSMETICS for it's over 35ers.....

I don't know if I'll cancel....  I mean, it is just $5 every three months and even a poor chick like me can swing that amount!!  However, I hope that Walmart hires some better people for their box curators...  Because whomever is curating these boxes now, clearly doesn't know what their doing.  No service is EVER going to please 100% of it's customer base when dealing with subscription services, however the majority of your subscribers should be able to get excited about at least ONE thing each box....
